I guess I wrote about Chi Chi no Hi (Father’s Day) a bit too early. As a reminder, please honor your father with the same love and reverence you show your mother! Father’s Day in Japan often slips by barely noticed. Most Japanese fathers toil away for long hours, hardly seeing their growing children, so it is natural that the children feel less attachment to them than to their mothers. If this is your situation, consider giving your father a gift of time. Show your love by doing something fun with him like take him to a baseball game. It will be a fond memory for both of you.
