It's the last week of the school year here, I have a graduating senior, an 11th birthday party to plan for and life is crazy. I keep wondering how to simplify my life, and the lives of those around me. The more I think about it, the less stuff I want to deal with. If the kitchen and bathroom are not cluttered, for instance, they are easy to clean. If the garage is nearly empty, I'm more likely to store things that need to leave the house. But when the garage gets full, I will leave more things in the house adding to the clutter.
My advice for you today is to keep your trash cans empty, or nearly empty, then you are more likely to use them. I empty my bathroom trash can into my kitchen compactor, but if the compactor is full then the bathroom trash stays full, then I leave trash in my bathroom. If I can keep my trash cans empty, then I am more likely to get rid of the trash in my house and then my house will be less cluttered.
Now that you've read this just take 5 minutes to empty all the trash cans in your home and then as you walk through your home, clear the trash back into the trash cans. You need to keep working on clutter all the time or it will grow.
