Baha'i

July 27 2015 Baha'i Newsletter

You know how sometimes when you are in a bad mood, you should just set aside what you're doing and take a walk? Or at least let the article sit for a while till you aren't so grumpy? That is what I needed to do this week, but it didn't work very well. The news media's constant reporting of violence, stupidity and cupidity just set my teeth on edge of late. Sometimes what people are doing just makes me so angry! (Good thing I'm not God, or I'd have wiped them all out. Again.) As the article deadline approached, I finally had to ask for help from the Concourse.

After some prayers and attitude adjustment, I sat down to transform my angry notes into an article--and somehow the harsh edges smoothed out. This is not a common experience for me, so I mention it for anyone else who might like to try asking for help when feeling too angry or sad or depressed to complete a task. And especially when others around you are NOT doing their share of the chores of living...

So here's the latest article from the Baha'i site at BellaOnline.com.

Is Religion Really All About Chores ?
For Bahá'ís, the purpose of life is to prepare spiritually for eternity, and to spend time and effort on building virtues to make a better world: spiritual chores.
