Greetings from the scorched Land of Oz!

Well, the heat hasn't let up in Kansas. Yesterday was 103 degrees with a heat index of about 111. At least I wasn't in Salina. Those poor folks had a temperature of 115 degrees-that's actual temperature. I understand that Washington state is cold enough to need a coat. Shed the coat-come to Kansas and warm those cold bones up!

This week, I want to update you on two things. The first is the work that I've been doing for a bird rescue, while the second is a review of the book that I finished this summer.

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about Organizing for a Cause and ADD. We have been working steadily to bring in votes to help expand a shelter for homeless companion birds. Yesterday we dropped to number 12, but today we are up to 6. Voting ends on July 31. If you have some time, please vote and encourage others to do so. I promise you that I am not going to use this as a forum for all of my little pet projects. No pun intended! However, this means the difference between life and death for some companion birds. Building School Success with ADD EBook Review

Building School Success with ADD is finally ready to read! Thanks to all of the viewers who have wished me well in completing this book. I wanted to write a useful and inexpensive book for parents. It is a compilation of some of my articles that are grouped according to subject matter. There is also new material introducing the articles. The last section of the book includes a great annotated listing of resources. This is a powerful book for parents and children.

Does your child with ADD dread school? I saw our oldest son go from a curious child who loved school to a boy who loathed going to school. As a parent, I was not a very effective advocate for my son's needs. I wanted to help him, but I didn't know how to be effective. Please use my years of training to your advantage! There is no need for you to go through the trial and error period that I did before I learned to work with the school. This book can allow you to hit the ground running this school year. Be proactive! Don't wait for a crisis to implement strategies that work to help your child.
