Hypothyroid & Hyperthyroid at the Same Time
Some patients with autoimmune hypothyroidism experience spells of hyperthyroidism (Hashitoxicosis). When this happens, their Doctor should test them for "TSI antibodies", which normally occur with Grave's Disease. If the antibodies are present, they may be a candidate for "block & replace" therapy.
