Hello Beauties,

This week in beauty news everyone has had their own opinions on the Kim Kardashian-West and Jeffree Star drama. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, Kim K recently posted swatches of a new powder contour and highlighter kit from her line. Jeffree Star left comments criticizing her swatch efforts, and the internet proceeded to read his final rights based on his past racial comments. Kim attempted to take up for Jeffree by telling people that it is not fair to judge him on his past since he has recently apologized and people can change. The internet then turned and sank their fangs into Mrs. Kardashian-West for defending someone that has made racist remarks in the past, and brought up the fact that her husband is black and her children are half black. Kim retracted her support for Jeffree on Snapchat and apologized for her remarks. Jeffree Star then posted a series of tweets blasting those that commented on his past racial insensitivities by saying that they should focus on the state of America today instead of on him and his past.

Jeffree Star gained a lot of public attention last year during his public drama with Kim’s sister Kylie over her new cosmetic line. He came to light again when Kat Von D posted a now viral video in which she dumped her former friend. This is around the time that videos of his past racist remarks started making their rounds on YouTube. Everyone gave their opinions on his past and his present character. He is well known for criticizing others that question him, his brand, or his friends.
