Hello and Happy Labor Day weekend to all!

This weekend I am off to the annual Santa Domingo Pueblo Arts and Crafts fair just south of Santa Fe, and will be bringing you an article all about it next week. This week, I decided to introduce you to the teachings of the Ancestors. You can check out the article on the Native American site at BellaOnline.com.

An Introduction to the Ancestors
An overview of the Ancestors, this article compares the various cultures of the Southwest to illustrate their similarities. This gives us a feel for how we are all related. The many lessons we can learn from the Ancestors are important to our own personal growth. Let us listen to their teachings...

I will continue this series with articles on the Mogollon, Anasazi, Mayan, and other ancient cultures in the coming weeks. I feel it is very important to learn about the Ancestors, and to honor their teachings. How better to do this, than to explore how they lived!

“To forget one's ancestor's is to be a brook without a source, a tree without root”
Chinese Proverb

I want to leave you with a quote that summarizes our article for the week:

"Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect."
Chief Seattle

I wish you all a fun, and safe, Labor Day Weekend.

Mitakuye Oyasin,
