Greetings to all friends near and far. It does not seem possible that summer is almost over and harvest time will be upon us

before we know it. Remember to check out my recipe site if you will be looking for some great ways to cook those harvest

We may still have some pretty hot days before us, so check out the "hot weather suvival tips" at the link below.

When it is nearing harvest time, that is a good time to start preparing for the winter months. It is never too early to stock

up for the cold weather to come. Please make sure the elderly in your community will have enough to get them through the

winter.

Another great idea for the elderly and children is the gift of warmth. If you knit or crochet think about making some hats,

neck scarves, shawls, and afghans to donate to reservation people who are in need of these items during the cold months.

Last Wednesday my mother, brother, and I went to the Grand Opening Ceremonies of the Nevada Territory Wild West Fair. The

Grand Procession was wonderful. Northern Paiute members were there in beautiful regalia. Here is a link to see some

When the National Anthem was being sung we experienced a beautiful and profound sight that brought a message of hope to all.

Towards the end of the song, "Oe'r the land of the free.." a flock of geese in perfect V-formation flew low over the flags of

the United States, Union, Confederate, Paiute Nation, and Nevada. As of one voice, everyone there murmured a resounding

"Ahhhhhh". It was a very spiritual moment shared by all.
