September 14 2007 Native American Newsletter

Hello and Happy Weekend to all!

This has been a busy week, so I do apologize for getting your newsletter to you so late. I have spent time this week fasting and celebrating the New Moon, which was Tuesday, and "Stopping the World", also on 9/11. Knowing how important it is to conserve our resources, I tried not to use any utilities on the 11th, nor do any shopping, use any gasoline, etc. That is what was meant by "Stopping the World" - not using any of her resources. This experience taught me that we are very dependent on our modern conveniences, such as running water and air conditioning! But I know every little bit helps, so I persevere!

Speaking of helping Mother Earth, this week's article speaks a little on that subject, as she, too, is comprised of "sacred space". You can check it out on the Native American site at BellaOnline.com.

Sacred Space
Sacred space occurs on several levels. It is personal, it is in your home, and it is our relationship with Mother Earth, or, yourself, your home, and your world. All of these spaces are sacred, and should be treated as such. Let us look at each one to see how we can better respect these teachings.
