Okay, I promised to be more cheerful this week :D -- so here's the latest article from the Baha'i site at BellaOnline.com.

Gelatology, the Study of Laughter
A brief overview of a new science: Gelatology, the study of laughter. Because it made me laugh to think about this kind of research.

I mean, really, if you were looking for grant money to study something, wouldn't laughter be way more fun than, say, nematodes or indigestion or how many decimal places you can generate from pi? I rest my case, LOL.

Research has determined that laughter actually changes blood chemistry for the better, rather like crying does. But, frankly, I think laughing would be way more fun for cleansing one's blood stream of toxins!

And while you might not think laughter is a religious topic, it truly is. Isn't happiness a common characteristic of deeply religious folks? At least all the ones I've met, from a variety of theologies, laugh long and readily. I aspire to that ability!

If you agree -- or disagree -- do come by the Bahá'í forum and add your voice to our online discussions -

I hope to hear from you sometime soon, either in the forum or in response to this email message.

Feel free to pass this message along to anyone you think might enjoy it -- or even get a laugh from my foolishness! Hey, even misplaced enthusiasm feels good!

Be well, and laugh a lot.
