Hello everyone,
It's been a decade since I went from player to DM. That said I thought I'd share what I've learned about that particular transition. It's not all rules, like many believe it to be, including my former self. There's also the fact that you're playing multiple characters in any given session as well as being the group moderator. Most of my time as DM is devoted to prep, as there's much more of it than when I am a player. Pulling all the characters together and into a massive storytelling session, though, makes it all worthwhile.
Player Characters Becoming Dungeon Masters
You've been playing for enough time to feel that you'd be more happy behind the DM screen. Whether that's one game or a more than a year's worth varies with the individual. Not sure about what all that change entails? It takes less than you might think.
