Quilting

October 16 2013 Quilting Newsletter

Hello all, it’s another week that just zoomed by and time for another catch-up. Our quilt show is up and running and it’s another beauty. I’ve entered three quilts this year and I’ve posted photos of them over at my blog if you’re interested. Here’s the link: http://whenlifehandsyouscraps.blogspot.com.au/

Our quilt show is run in conjunction with a Craft Fair and there are many stalls and booths touting their wares. It’s always good to browse these booths at quilt shows to see what’s new and what’s old hat, to see the direction quilting designs are taking etc. It’s always a good form of inspiration, seeing what others are doing.

I personally prefer to shop at my leisure at my local patchwork shops. That way I can support my local supplier and help to keep them in business, and I can choose in my own time, without pushing and shoving and with the help of someone who has the time to spend with me.

There’s a place for both and aren’t we lucky we have them almost at our doorstep!

Last Sunday I posted my review on a new publication from Leisure Arts titled Freezer Paper Quilting. It’s a great book chock full of ideas for using Freezer Paper in quilting and I thoroughly recommend it. Here’s the link to my review: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art181677.asp

I posted a question last week on the forum about the method of critiquing at Quilt Shows. I haven’t received a reply yet. So please, if you would like to contribute – I’d love to hear from you. Here’s the link: http://forums.bellaonline.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=43

So, onto my goodies for you this week. Have fun!
