Good day everyone, I’ve just returned from the gym. Please don’t think good of me; I’m a person who absolutely HATES exercise. The only thing that gets me to the gym these days is re-runs of Frasier on the TV. It goes for just on half an hour which is about my energy capacity anyway. I really enjoy watching the telly while I’m walking (it takes my mind off the dreaded exercise thing). What I’ll do when the re-runs have ran, I don’t know!! If I could sew and walk on the treadmill at the same time, I’d be a happy little stitcher!
Anyway, a busy week here. Yesterday I attended the first Queensland Quilters Inc Guild meeting and it was great to catch up with the gals. We had a valuation session as well, and managed to get it done in good time.
I’ve been busy making some baby shoes (you know about my little fetish), for our Sunshine Linus stall at our Open Day in August, but I’ve come to a stop when it comes to the ties. I’m just not sure what to do. I’ve tried ribbon, stitched on the back and along the sides, but I’d like to make something a little simpler, both to sew on and to use.
The felt ones look pretty, but I can’t come up with a closing mechanism. I’ve photographed them and put them on my blog. If you’ve got time, pop over to it and see if you can give me some advice. I’ll be very grateful. Here’s the link to my blog: http://whenlifehandsyouscraps.blogspot.com.au/
Last Sunday I posted a collection of links for stitch dictionaries. I am always interested in different stitches and using them in combinations. I am an avid Crazy Patch worker and these online dictionaries always come in handy. Here’s the link to that article: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art179592.asp
We’ve been enjoying the conversation over at the forum. Have your say too. Here’s the link:

Before I get onto the goodies for this week, I’d like to thank a reader, Sue who alerted me to the fact that the link to the Blue Velvet Chair blog actually connected to another site without showing the tie quilts as mentioned. My apologies for that. I found another link for using mens ties in quilts, that you might be interested in. Here it is: http://quiltinspiration.blogspot.com.au/search?updated-max=2011-06-09T06:18:00-07:00&max-results=20&start=148&by-date=false some interesting tie quilts here
