Hi everyone, it’s me just popping my head around the door to say hello!
My darling and I have just returned from 10 days holidaying in Tasmania, where we toured the southern eastern corner from Hobart to the south of the Tasman Peninsular. We had a wonderful time. We hired a car and spent three days on the Peninsular which is the home of Port Arthur, an incredibly beautiful environmental setting for a not so lovely penal colony. But the history of this place is so compelling; it’s very hard to ignore the tenacity of the prisoners and their guards. Under the most suffering of circumstances, the human spirit was truly put to the test.
We had days where we drove and walked and walked and luckily the weather was overcast, but with little rain. Here’s a link to some images of the Tasman Peninsular so you can see the sorts of scenery we saw.

We then travelled to Hobart and had 7 days discovering Hobart, and its surrounds. The most spectacular scenery is all around you in Hobart, from the top of Mt Wellington to the gorgeous coast of the Huon and the fascinating Heritage Highway. Here are some images for you.

Next year we hope to visit the north of Tasmania over about two weeks. So I’ll keep you posted.
While I was away, I posted an article for you that I had promised a few weeks ago. I finally finished my Blue Quilt and I’ve written an article and given the instructions for making the block. I’m absolutely thrilled with the quilt; it does look lovely in the room. I so wanted a subtle quilt, that didn’t clash with the busy curtains. I think I managed to achieve the brief. What do you think?

Over at the forum we’ve had some pretty funny responses to my plea for some advice on exercising AND quilting. Pop over there and have a look. Here’s the link:

Well quilters, that’s all from me for this week. I have a mountain of washing in front of me, and it’s raining outside. Hmmm, maybe I should do some quilting instead LOL.
Hope this newsletter finds you all feeling well and happy. Big Hug to you all.
