Hello quilters, welcome to another instalment of the Quilters Quarters Newsletter. I’ve been busy “searching” for a suitable quilt pattern to make for a friend who is having her first grandchild.
I’ve spent the best part of two days surfing the internet and researching through my large library of quilting books and have finally settled on a simple quilt with prairie points. Honestly, I probably could have made 4 quilt tops in the time it took me to choose the final pattern.
In my surfing I have discovered a wonderful array of new websites that I wasn’t aware of in the past, and have been gleaning lots and lots of links for your goodies section at the end of this newsletter.
You may be interested to know that when I source these links, I place them in an excel spread sheet ready to attach to a newsletter. So far, over the six and a half years I’ve been editing this quilt site and sending out newsletters, I have linked to in the vicinity of 3,000 interesting sites for my readers.
I can’t guarantee that I haven’t linked to the same site more than once, but that number certainly surprised me! And there’s lots more unknown sites for me to tap into in the future. The internet really is quite AWESOME!
Last week I wrote an article on websites that offer quilt related gifts for Mothers Day. I don’t usually focus on commercial sites, but I know as a mother and a quilter, I just love to receive quilt related gifts such as note cards, stickers and the like. Here’s the link to that article: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art183060.asp
