Hi everyone, how are things with you today? We’ve had a bit of slow start after a late night attending a The Cory Band Concert. The Cory Band is from Wales, UK and is currently the world champions of Europe. Here’s a link to their website if you’re interested. http://www.coryband.com/ While you’re there have a look at the information about the Cory Academy and the wonderful things they are doing for the underprivileged in their community.
Wow, what a night. My darling is a “bandie” and both of us have played in various symphonic and brass bands over our lives. Both of us learned piano as youngsters (although he learned to play modern, me classical) and we’ve both continued with our music (although he hasn’t had the quilting distraction), throughout our adult years. We’ve recently bought a new piano and it’s getting a workout from both of us (although it plays the same wrong notes as the last one – how come? LOL).
Anyway who ever said “music is good for the soul” was definitely on to something. Most of my quilting friends admit to having music playing as they quilt – what a partnership made in heaven, music AND quilting.
I’ve posted the first in a series of articles on Quilting for Charity. I’ve highlighted all the different items the group I belong to makes and will then endeavour to describe and offer patterns for them in future articles. So here’s the first of many articles for you: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art181180.asp
Don’t forget the forum is there for quilters to have their say – here’s the link: http://forums.bellaonline.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=43
Now onto my goodies. BTW, thanks very much to those lovely readers who emailed me with thanks for the goodies last week – they were very diverse and hopefully something of interest for everyone, and I do love finding things for you. Have fun.
