SEWING MACHINE IN THE PINES
Author - Tom Stock, from Poetryvlog.com

A warbler moves
From branch to branch,
Tree to tree,
A summer voice in the Pine Barrens.
I stop, look toward zit zit zit notes
High in the canopy.
I get only glimpses of a tiny, olive-yellow bird
About its business.
The pione warbler hides in heavy cover
Of bushy pine needles,
Teases me with a voice
Whose trill, fine as silken thread,
Runs off a bobbin of an old sewing machine.
