Tip for the week: If you think bleach will be too harsh for a fabric that needs to be whitened, "sun bleach" it by laying it out in the sun--even in the cold of winter. How long it needs to stay out (minimum of 1 day) depends on how white you need it to be and how resistant the fabric is to fading/bleaching... but it will happen!
