Reader Recipe of the Week: The Italian Veggie “Shake”
Please feel free to submit your recipes or cooking tips to cookingforkids@bellaonline.com. I will include them in the newsletter and on the forum.
This recipe is one my mom used to do with me, and to this day I always smile as I “shake” up the veggies the same way I did as a kid.
The Italian Veggie “Shake”
Slice two cumbers, and place in plastic container.
Add cherry or grape tomatoes.
Add a few splashes of Italian dressing.
Close lid TIGHTLY and let your kids shake away!
Refrigerate for two hours, and then let them shake it one more time before serving.
There’s something about shaking and watching the dressing go everywhere (in the container that is) that kids just can’t get enough of! Even better, they’re more likely to eat it!
