"I believe in love and trust and commitment, but not in marriage. Marriage may do something for lawyers and mothers, but not for husbands and wives. I deal with reality, with the feelings I have at the moment. And then I go on from there." Actress Susan Sarandon

Susan Sarandon has a number of films in production and also a television series titled "Feud", set to air in 2017. "Feud" is based on the volatile relationship between actresses Joan Crawford and Bette Davis during Hollywood's Golden Age. The series has a stellar cast: Sarandon as Davis, Jessica Lange as Joan Crawford, Kathy Bates as Joan Blondell, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Olivia de Havilland, and Judy Davis as gossip columnist Hedda Hopper. Season One is 8 episodes.

Obst discusses the disappearance of DVD revenue, the writer's strike of 2007-08, and the rise of China as a market for American film. If you want to understand why sequels and franchises dominate the studios' production schedules, Obst explains the economic reasons why.
