IDEAL BOOK REVIEW - My Mom is FAT
Moe, our Large & Lovely editor, has created a perfect example of a well done book review! I highly recommend everyone take a look! It's here -
http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art65233.asp
First, the title is perfect. It contains the title, the word "review", with the title coming first. Short, sweet titles by far get the most traffic.
Her image placement is ideal. You always want any images to come AFTER the first paragraph, so that Google and other engines index that first paragraph cleanly and so the reader gets drawn into the text. Add any images after that point. Right alignment for graphics is perfect so that the reader can easily keep reading.
The text of the review is great. Moe discusses the contents of the entire book, making it clear she has read it all. She provides valuable feedback on how the book's content would affect its target audience.
Equally important, Moe hasn't written a press release that her readers will dismiss as "marketing speak". She points out issues that bother her. Her readers know that she evaluated the book fairly and that they can trust in what she says as a result.
Every article is allowed to have two external links in it, and the bottom of the article is the ideal place for those, for many reasons. Moe did this perfectly. The text links are clearly identified and easy to read.
She also used the related links area properly, linking to three of her own articles so that readers can easily move on to read her other similar content.
Finally, Moe is savvy to the FTC rules, and identified where she got the book! That way readers are very clear on where the item came from and feel comfortable about that as well.
Moe has done everything exceptionally well here! Kudos, Moe!
