Greetings and Salutations -

Thank you so much to the editors who came to hang out last night, learn how a launch party works, and win some prizes! For those of you who were unable to attend, the whole party is in text so you can see every single post and just how this works. The full party from start to finish is here -

Let me know if you have any questions at all about how this was set up or run. Having a launch party is an immensely powerful way to get sales and attention for your books and projects. It's an important skill to master.

The next two topics involve images, and many of you read email on systems that don't do well with images, so I put the information in the forums.

First, Amazon free giveaways. This is a HUGE way to promote your book projects. It's an option you can click for any Kindle book, to have them be Kindle exclusive and therefore able to have a free giveaway. I'm currently doing a free giveaway of Creating Memories, to help drive sales for my whole series. It's reached the #2 spot in the medieval area, which is my target audience. This thread talks about why this is so key to building readership, and also why a clear, meaningful cover at tiny postage-stamp size is so critical:

Next, Amazon top 100 sales. For people browsing a topic area, you absolutely want to get in that top 100 area. I talk here about how even tiny increases in sales can vault you up large numbers in the rankings -

It is absolutely critical that crystal-clear cover image is at the tiny size. The only thing people see are your cover and title. That's it. Nothing else. If that cover doesn't catch their eye in a meaningful way, the user is just going to keep looking through the thousands of other options that are right there.

Let me know if you have any questions at all - I'm happy to help!

Sincerely,

Lisa Shea, owner
