February 1 2014 Editor Assistance Newsletter
Thank you to everyone who has responded so far with testing out the new admin area logon. Please keep those email messages coming, so I know everybody is set with the new location.
I definitely recommend including Twitter in your daily activity. Mention brand names if you’re using them.
I have EAS shakes every morning for breakfast and usually I just call them “shakes” in my morning low carb tweets. I named them EAS in my tweet today.
The EAS brand twitter feed responded and was happy about my tweet.
Their tweet on their page then caused all sorts of other people to find me and talk to me. So it greatly expanded my reach in just one fell swoop.
It works best with praise of course, but for examples if you’re using a tool to research your writing, or using certain software to do your tasks, mention it. You never know if those guys will be online and happy to respond – and get you known to a vast large audience. If you’re using a certain model camera for your photos, it might be worth mentioning. You never know where those next readers will come in from. If you’re doing research and coming across cool locations, mention them. If you're reviewing products, mention the brand name. Every mention might trigger that retweet which gets you oodles of perfectly-on-target readers.
It's one of those "viral" activities that can drive your traffic on that article from 100 to 10,000 :).
