April 1 2011 Editor Assistance Newsletter

Greetings and Salutations!

So far we've had just one person publicly fall for our April Fools article and complain that there was no such thing as a pigmy giraffe :) We pointed out that the article clearly states at the bottom that it's a joke, and she apologized :)

Be sure to check out some of the other great articles that are being featured on our site homepage right now!

Then be sure to see what Google has done for April Fools - they claim you can now control GMail with body motions! View the PDF to see all the body motions - some are hilarious!

I've updated the historical traffic page - the one you get to by going to your live traffic page and then clicking the "more" button to the right of last month's number. It now shows you your historical data in a grid set up by year and month so it's easier to spot trends. If your site has existed for over a year, it also shows you the 2010 data in graph form, so you can spot where your site traffic peaks. Some of our sites peak right after New Years, when people make resolutions to be more healthy. Other sites here peak in the fall when people head back to school and renew their effort on learning.

Let me know if you have any questions at all about your traffic page - the more you learn your specific site's trends, the better you can help your visitors and build on that!

Also as with all changes there's always the potential I introduced a bug in there somewhere, so if you get an error viewing your page, let me know so I can fix that! Thanks!
