April 25 2012 Editor Assistance Newsletter

Greetings and Salutations -

I have a slight backlog, so if you're waiting to hear from me, I should get to you shortly!

I've just finished updating our alumni page with the latest links from editors who have left our nest. You can find their projects here -

http://www.bellaonline.com/misc/alumni.asp

Please help support their dreams, and say hi!

Our previous Card Games editor, Robin Rounds Whittemore, is struggling in a fight against cancer. Please send your warm wishes, thoughts, and prayers her way. She gave permission for me to share her personal email address with you if you want to contact her directly. That is personalmail4robin@yahoo.com

I have touching news from Neville Sexton, who was our Child Loss editor. Here is what he sends:

~~~~~~
Great to hear from you. Hope all is well with you. I'm glad to see BellaOnline flourishing away and I'm so proud to be included as one of the alumni. My time as the Child Loss Editor has helped me in ways I cannot begin to describe. It helped me to deal with the loss of my son and in doing so help others out there who've gone through the same thing. But also it got me into the habit of writing. It set me on the path to writing my book - Craig The Boy Who Lives (Gill & Macmillan, 2011) - which I presented to the President, got Gabriel Byrne to endorse, and did several TV and radio interviews for. I also did a TV documentary which was just shown on Australian TV (ABC Compass http://www.abc.net.au/compass/s3451513.htm ) on Easter Sunday and which had a massive response. All this stems from sitting down to write my weekly column with BellaOnline so I'm so thankful.
... I would be absolutely chuffed if you could tell the other editors. I think what BellaOnline does is extraordinary and if my story can serve as a small example to others in the BellaOnline family I would be delighted and honoured. It cannot be understated the direct and immediate effect of what being an editor with you guys did for me and the path it set me on.
The link to Neville's Facebook page is on the Alumni page, so you can swing by to see him there.
SOCIAL NETWORKING
I have gone through all the various Social Networking links and put live all the ones that linked properly to their end pages. Please take a look to see if yours went live or not, in that admin area. If not, check the URL and make sure there aren't any typos in it, and that it was done the way indicated. If you have any questions, I'm happy to help!
Even if you're not currently doing social networking yourself, please stop by the social networking admin area and see what your fellow editors are up to. You can follow them and support them in their quests! It's always nice to have more fans, friends, and followers :)
CHAT
Let's have an editor chat next Thursday, May 3rd at 9pm EST. That will give us a chance to tackle whatever questions you might have. Is it how to create ebooks? How to earn money on the web? How to manage time to get in weekly writing? How to optimize social networking? Whatever you want to learn about, we'll brainstorm for you!
I wanted to offer a warm thanks to everyone who is supporting me in my quest to get my ten medieval novels published. All proceeds support battered women's shelters. I just released my seventh book, Badge of Honor, this past weekend. You can see the news about the books here -
If anybody would like a free PDF, Word, or EPUB copy of any of them, just let me know and I'll send it along! The first seven are fully done, and the eighth - Lady in Red - is in the review process and seeking feedback.
Have a great week!
