Greetings and Salutations -
Thank you everyone for the ideas on the Kindle brainstorming - I'll sort them out and then respond back with a summary for everyone! Together we can help each other reach greater audiences and heights :).
I have a related question for you all. We all have different devices and systems we use, so we're a great resource to help each other out.
I tend to be fairly Kindle-centric in my thinking, probably because I own a Kindle ;). So, for example, my ten medieval romance novels are all Kindle-only in terms of ebook.

By having them Kindle only, I get special options in the Kindle system in terms of promoting them.
So then, the question is, what if I removed that Kindle-only status? What if I listed them on Apple and Nook? I do that with my low carb ebooks, via Lulu. Lulu lets me manage both Apple and Nook in one spot easily, plus lists me in Lulu's system as well, all for free. I like the load-once-get-into-three-systems interface. Conceivably, adding a few of my medieval novels into Lulu would get my books bought by a wider audience.
But would the additional sales make up for what I lose by no longer being a "featured" book in Amazon's system? Even with my low carb books, which are on all four platforms, the Amazon sales vastly outnumber all the other sales. Amazon is just that huge.
I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this. Again, I'll gather them all up and report back, so we can all learn and grow together!
