Greetings and Salutations -

Thank you to the editors who worked with me on figuring out the ZZZ newsletter tracking. Those ZZZ links are now working properly again.

For those who don't use it, the ZZZ tag lets an editor know how many readers click directly on an article link in a newsletter, to read that article. It only works with article links and it should only be used in the newsletter.

If a ZZZ link gets out "into the wild" on the web, and is picked up by a search engine, then its tracking becomes meaningless. Now it's simply showing general traffic, which we already trace. There's no reason to have two separate counters counting the exact same thing :).

The ZZZ links are automatically added to your articles in the newsletter admin area.

Let me know if you have any questions about them!

And don't forget to mark your calendars for our Google chat on Thursday, May 7th, at 9pm EST! If you don't have a Google+ account yet, now's the time to make one. They're free, easy to use, and posts you make there help your Google ranking (go figure ;) ).

I'm pretty sure we have to be "connected" in order for the video hangout to work properly. I.e. I think only my "friends" can enter a chat I begin. If you let me know where your account is, I'm happy to start to process!

Note that you don't have to show video to talk with us :). You're free to participate just by voice or just by typing! Heck, you could have your cat represent you if you wish.

Have a great week :).
