November 27 2006 English Culture Newsletter

Greetings, Anglophiles!
December is almost here, and I suppose most of you are gearing up for the holiday season. If shopping at a Christmas market is part of your plans, then this week's article should interest you.

Christmas Markets
It's that time of year again, the time when Christmas markets pop up all over England, providing a festive atmosphere as well as a good place to do your shopping, eat good food, and enjoy great entertainment. Here is a listing of the Christmas markets for 2006.

In the US, we just celebrated Thanksgiving, which is our official start to the Christmas season. For the occasion, I posted an article last week about the Pilgrims and the hardships that forced them to leave England for the New World, bringing the concept of Thanksgiving with them.

Who Were the Pilgrims?

It's not to late to enter my contest to win a copy of "The Rough Guide to the Da Vinci Code". The winner has yet to be named! If this book interests you, why don't you come and play my trivia game?

I hope to hear from you sometime soon, either in the forum or in response to this email message. I thrive on your feedback!

Have fun passing this message along to family and friends, because we all love free knowledge!
