Italian Food

April 13 2008 Italian Food Newsletter

It may not always feel like spring in some areas of the US (how's the snow Minnesota?) and for some of our readers they are in the midst of fall. Fortunately fresh onions are available year round.

Other Varieties of Onions
The onion family is large and tasty. Here are a few of my favorite yellow onion cousins, be they subtle or bold.

Fusilli with Creamy Sage Sauce Recipe
The taste of sage adds a new layer of flavor to the traditional creamy pasta sauce. The fusilli adds funky twists to the presentation.

Cooking Tip

How To Clean Mushrooms
Some cooks like to just wipe off the dirt with a soft brush or a damp towel. I admit that I cannot not do that. Instead I give each mushroom a quick rinse and then wipe them off. Do not let the mushrooms soak in water. Don't over look the stems of the mushrooms.

Travel Information

Costa Cruises has some great deals for fall and winter of this year. My husband and I have made plans to go cruising Italian style this November. With the current dollar to euro rate this is more economical than a standard trip to Italy. (I have received no compensation for this recommendation.)
