June 16 2006 Low Carb Newsletter
We'll divvy up by your first name. If your first name begins with the letter A-M, then you should start taking apple cider vinegar daily through the end of the month. If your first name begins with the letter N-Z, then please keep eating "normally" until the 30th. If you are a N-Z person and really want to try this, don't despair. We'll have you guys try the diet from Jul 1-15 so that you get your chance to see how it affects you :) For now we need you to be the "control group" so we can watch for trends.
So you A-M people, I want you to take apple cider vinegar each day. Different gurus claim different amounts work, so choose for yourself whether you want to try 2 tsp a day before a meal, 2 tsp before lunch and another 2 tsp before dinner, or even 3 tsp before each meal. Whatever amount you choose, try to do it the same way each day so that our tests are even. Keep track of your weight and your general eating habits for these days, just like before. That way we know not to "blame" the apple cider vinegar if you gain 10 pounds by eating lots of birthday cake :)
We won't make everyone report all their daily notes!! These are just for YOUR information. What we'll do on June 30th is have everyone report in their *results*. So for example, I might say that I lost 2 pounds from Jun 1-15 doing my regular low carb, and that I lost 8 pounds from Jun 16-30 with low carb plus vinegar - and that I didn't see any big changes in my eating during either period that might account for the difference. So we're just looking for summaries at the end, not the nitty grity details of your weight and so on :) Just in case some of you are shy!
So if your first name begins with A-M, get your hands on some apple cider vinegar! Take some each day, and post notes in the forum! I hear this stuff isn't "wonderful tasting" so be prepared to drink a glass of water after you drink the vinegar :)
Good luck to everyone!
