Staples are many things to the creative chef. They can serve as an amazing base or foundation to build the rest of good meal on or as an accent piece waiting for another item to round it out, but if you don't have these things on hand... if you're not playing with them on a regular basis... how will you know what to do with them that pushes the envelope and transforms your creations from everyday-'okay' to culinary masterpieces. This week I'm glad to touch on the basic principle of simply stocking up on your staples, familiar and non, and building your bulk bin of food tools along with using Food TV to build your business. 2. Put Iron Chef, Iron Chef America & Good Eats on your to watch list and watch them. They have great on-the-fly ideas and the pace is what you're going to be working with when you need to get in and out of a job site quick.
