Halfway through Summer term and it's beginning to drag. To spice things up I've been making villains for use in my next campaign. Unless your players want to be evil, role-playing villains takes a good share of a DMs time. The way I see it, you may as well have fun with it! This article is on villain motivations. Why did they turn from good?
Villain Motivators and Antagonist Intentions
When you've reused the same villain for three adventures, your players might get bored. How can you come up with fresh material? Well, if you start with the basics – the reason they are villains – it's pretty easy to branch in different directions. Here's five common roots for evil villains.
