Wine's Supporting Acts
They’re the varieties growing in regions famous for something else. They’re the unappreciated wines ignored by most, they’re the varieties you’ve not heard of or those known only when grown elsewhere.

Peter F May looks at the Chablis that isn’t Chardonnay, Burgundy’s other white grape, and California’s 5th most grown black wine grape that you’ve never heard of.

Later this month I'll be travelling to Alsace, France to visit wineries there and calling into Champagne on the way back.

I am then travelling to Missouri in October to visit the towns of Hermann and Augusta to taste America's own grape - Norton. Then I am attending the American wine Society in Sandusky, Ohio in November where there is a session on Norton among others. Please do let me know if you are in any of those places or if you're attending the conference.
