Work & Family

November 29 2006 Work & Family Newsletter

Greetings Work and Family Members,

A lot of work places have office parties at this time of year. I was never a fan of these holiday parties when I worked 9 to 5 outside of my home. I did skip one early on, but learned that it was not the best thing to do :-( One of my bosses let me know how angry and embarrassed she was when a ‘power’ asked for me and I was not at the party. See my new article.

Office party do's and don't's - Remember it's still business.

In case you missed it, here is my article from last week. My thoughts on Thanksgiving and family.

*Happy Thanksgiving from Work & Family*
Thanksgiving, although not a religious holiday, there is no better time to give thanks for family, friends and abundance.

Visit for more content. In addition, to participate in online discussions, the Work & Family site has a community forum. Our question this week is “What is one of your favorite things to do in winter.”

*A Lighter Moment*

I hope this is not out-of-line. I just received from a friend.

3-year-old Reese:
"Our Father, Who does art in heaven, Harold is His name. Amen."
A little boy was overheard praying: "Lord, if you can't make me a better
boy, don't worry about it. I'm having a real good time like I am."

As always, feel free to send this and other Work & Family articles to family and friends.

Be careful, be safe,

Vannie Ryanes, Work & Family Editor

The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another’s desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. —Erma Bombeck
