Take a Walking Tour on your Vacation

When you go on vacation or holiday, or even a business trip, one great way to see the sights and stay active is to take a walking tour. On a walking tour, you get to see things up close and personal, instead of from a window in a tour bus. You also get to see things others never do, making for much more interesting pictures and stories.

You can take a guided walking tour, which comes with a tour guide who tells you about what you are seeing, much like a tour guide on a bus would. Tour guides are usually great people who love sharing their knowledge and their favorite things about their cities. But, you can also take a self-guided tour, using someone else’s mapped tour or creating your own before you go.

The cost of guided walking tours is typically pretty moderate, ranging from under $5 USD to over $20 USD for tours of up to three hours. So, you get to enjoy the local scenery and hear the stories for about the cost of a day pass at a local gym or a visit to a movie theater. Plus, it is exercise! You can keep to your walking goals even while traveling.

And, if you are planning a vacation, explore using an active vacation company. These tours average a week long and all are difficulty-rated from easy to challenging so you can pick one that matches your fitness level.
