Interstitial Cystitis Symptoms

Interstitial Cystisis symptoms vary in degree from woman to woman. They generally include such things as mild discomfort to intense pain in the pelvic and/or lower abdominal area. The reason it is often misdiagnosed as a bladder infection is because most women report a burning sensation before, during and after urination - that "oh, no!" feeling that many women are all too familiar with.

It's also not uncommon for women with IC to complain of an extreme increase in urgency to urinate. And, if that's not enough, they report an uncomfortable, and inconvenient, increase in the frequency of urination as well. The pain and symptoms associated with IC are more often than not chronic and can effect many normal activities from sitting comfortably to exercise to sexual intercourse.
