Her research and experience display a global arena, one that encompasses the USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Europe, China, Australia, New Zealand, and Africa. Her great ambition is to spark your own lust for the distinctive beers of the world, raise interest in home-brewing and enliven your palate with beer and food.
She is the recipient of the Brewers Association 2006 Beer Journalism Award in Electronic Media for her work at BellaOnline and is a contributing author to the internationally-published book, "Beer Hunter Whisky Chaser," with proceeds benefiting the Parkinson Society of the UK. She is co-founder of the Philly Beer Geek Competition, is a Certified Beer Server in the Cicerone Certification Program, and is Beer and Brewing Advisor for the International Gluten Free Beer Festival. As a Certified Beer Judge through the Beer Judge Certification Program, she has served in local Homebrew Competitions, as an International Beer Judge at the Great American Beer Festival (2007 - 2011), at the 2009 Mondial de la Biere in Montreal, Quebec, and at the 2010 World Beer Cup. As a complement to her appreciation of cultural diversity, she writes about international beer for the BC Foreign Exchange blog at Beer Connoisseur Online and has had work published in Beer Connoisseur Magazine, Caviar Affair, Ale Street News, Philadelphia Weekly, Philly Beer Scene, Whisky France, the Journal of the Royal Society of Brewing History, Celebrator, and more.
Smagalski is president of CQ Web Wide LLC and webmaster/editor of www.cqwebwide.com, lectures on success strategies for business communication and is profiled in Marquis´ Who´s Who in America 2005. Adding to the zest and excitement within her household are her two high-spirited sons, young adults who are building their own paths within the world. A lover of nature and the sky, she is an IFR rated pilot with complex aircraft rating.
