In addition to my work at BellaOnline, where I am also the editor of the Early Childhood Site, I have published articles at ClubMom and Associated Content. In 2005, I was privileged to also become a published print author, contributing my essay "Loving the Life I Never Knew I Wanted," about my journey to stay-at-home-motherhood and entrepreneurship to the book "Inspiration to Realization: Real Women Reveal Proven Strategies for Personal, Business, Financial and Spiritual Fulfillment, Volume II." In my "spare time," I´m also having fun as a top-2500 Amazon reviewer for both leisure reading that I manage to do to keep me sane, as well as children´s books, parenting books and other kids and family related products -- you can read them at Nicki´s Amazon Reviews
.In September 2009, I completed a formal training program through the University of California, San Diego to become a Certficated Lacation Educator/Counselor, as part of my intention to create a parenting resource business online and locally. I am firmly of the belief that great parenting is a skill that can be enhanced by education. For me breastfeeding, and working hard for it, was the foundation that started me down the path we are on now. In my "spare" time, in addition to writing for BellaOnline, I founded a local chapter of the Holistic Moms Network and serve as secretary and "room liasion" at my older daughter´s amazing alternative (but public) elementary school and Treasurer at my younger daughter´s cooperative preschool.
As a mother who could not have been successful at breastfeeding without the support I received, and as an avid breastfeeding advocate, I am beyond thrilled at being able to be of service by supporting breastfeeding mothers at BellaOnline.
