I am the youngest of three children raised by a single parent and am the first in my family to earn a bachelor´s degree. I know well the struggles and triumphs associated with the pursuit of higher education.

Since first graduating with a Bachelor´s of Business Administration in 1994, I have made the promotion of workforce development and higher education my full-time avocation. I am an active member in the Higher Education Consultants Association and the National Association for Self-Esteem. I am also a free-lance education writer and an Associate Member of the Education Writers of America.

I hold a doctorate in Education Administration and Leadership, with a specialization in Higher Education, and I have spent the last 14 years employed in workforce development, career guidance and student services (admissions and financial aid).

Between family and my full-time paying job, I also work part-time as an Independent Education Consultant with Hill Country ECS (http://hillcountryecs.net), to help promote college and financial aid awarenes.

Though life is challenging and my schedule rather hectic, I still strive to take time out to smell the roses. My favorite past-times are writing, trips to the zoo and museums with family, and "vegging out" in the backyard with the kids, dog, peacock, wading pool and a good sprinkler.
