She left home and spent two years working towards a university degree in sciences, before realizing she really wanted immediate work after graduation. Megan moved back to the wet coast for a 2-year technical diploma in Fish, Wildlife and Recreation. Smart move – she met a guy, got married and spent six months backpacking through Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.
Upon their return, the couple decided Alberta was where they should reside and Parks was where they should work. Thirteen years and one adorable blonde baby later, Megan left the natural history interpretation behind to become a freelance writer – with the help of her first sale, a Reader’s Digest drama-in-real life tale about a mountain rescue. She now specializes in travel writing (itchy feet, you know!), outdoor adventure articles and non-fiction writing for kids.
