About the BellaOnline Hunting Editor

Welcome to the Hunting site on BellaOnline!

I am very excited to be joining the editorial staff here at BellaOnline as the Hunting Editor.

My goal is to create an informative, educational and entertaining site dedicated to the passion of Hunting. Whether you have never hunted before or you’re looking to purchase your first weapon or you’re a seasoned professional looking for the latest in scent technology, I hope you will find the information and the encouragement you need from this site. Every hunt is a treasured memory, whether it is successful or not. Being able to participate in such a time-honored tradition is something I will always cherish and I look forward to passing the tradition on to my son, and future generations of hunters.

Let me tell you how I got started hunting. I started accompanying my father, uncles and their friends on hunting trips when I was in my teens. But back then my weapon of choice was a Pentax K1000 35mm camera. I had the honor photographing many hunting trips in various places throughout the United States: from Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah for Elk, Black Bear and Mule Deer to California and Oregon for Duck and Goose. However, it wasn’t until my early 20’s that I put down the camera and picked up a rifle.

My husband and his family then introduced me to the life of historical reenactments. The first rifle purchase I ever made was for a .54 caliber, Lyman Deer Stalker, a traditional muzzleloader. With only hours of practice under my belt I found myself entered in the Colorado Muzzle loading Associations 1995 state shooting competition. It was perfect! The 10 lb, 24 inch barrel “little” rifle was loaded with 80g of Goex fff black powder , .535 lead round ball and a .10 patch and was out- of- the- box perfect at 50 yards and quickly put the big boys to shame! It was very successful and I walked away with a few awards. This was quickly followed by the annual Muzzle loader hunting season. (Which wasn’t as successful), but that was all it took! I was hooked and I´ve tried to hunt every season since.

I hope Each and Every Hunt You have is, Your Hunt of a Lifetime …
