Denise Castille has been in the insurance industry for more than 14 years. Her insurance career started with State Farm Insurance where she worked for 10 years. 6 ½ of those years she traveled throughout the United States as a catastrophe claim specialist handling catastrophic weather related homeowners and auto claims.

Denise is a licensed life, accident, health and property/casualty producer in the state of Indiana. She is the founder and owner of Customized Learning, Inc., a state approved insurance school. Denise is the first and only African American female to have a business of this kind in the state of Indiana. Denise started the school because she didn’t want licensees to have to sit through 40 boring hours of insurance instruction like she did. Thus, she created a unique classroom setting for insurance prelicensing. Her classes became known as “fun and far from boring” because of the adult conducive games patterned after TV game shows like Family Feud, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Jeopardy, and Weakest Link. Her insurance classes are always energetic, enthusiastic, and effective.

Denise has taken a break from teaching insurance classes and operating the business full-time due primarily to the declining market for insurance classroom instruction. Denise still maintains her licenses as a Life Insurance Enrollment Specialist with Hauser & Associates, a Boston Mutual Company. When time allows she travels throughout the Midwest giving Life Insurance Presentations to small to mid-size employers.

Denise is flying the friendly skies as a flight attendant while she goes back to school to earn a graduate certificate in Human Resources, an enhancement to her Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Denise is the former President of the Network of Women in Business, Indianapolis’ oldest women’s networking organization. She served as recording secretary for the Indianapolis Interfaith Hospitality Network, an organization committed to ending homelessness. Denise is active in her church as a member of the finance committee and as Program Director she creates and implements special program initiatives.

Denise is single (again) and lives in Indianapolis. She loves to travel. She and her mom have been on too many cruises to count. They have their sites set on a trip to Ireland in 2009. She loves to read and one day hopes to write a Christian fiction novel.
