After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh,I became a stock broker. Shortly thereafter,I began working for Charles Schwab & Co. I spent most of my 20 years in the investment business with Charles Schwab.
With Schwab,I was not only a broker but also a trading supervisor where I supervised at times up to 20 people. The licenses I held were: Series 63, Series 7,and Series 8. The Series 8 license meant that I was the person who approved account applications,IRA distribtions, and other forms. I was also the person whom clients spoke to when there was a problem.
After leaving Schwab,I began to write freelance investing-related articles for sites such as SeekingAlpha.com. and Investopedia.com. (online subsidiary of Forbes Magazine). I am also a writer and analyst for the investing newsletter firms - Oxbury Publishing, Street Authority´s main site and Investing Answers site, and the Oxford Club´s Investment U site.
At Oxbury, I write a weekly column where I take a usually irreverent look at the markets and a bi-weekly article where I make an investment recommendation. The site can be found at: www.oxburypublishing.com
I also recently started my own blog on the financial crisis - it is called the Wall Street Mess and be found at http://wallstreetmess.blogspot.com
