Is ice cream your favorite summer treat?

In honor of ice cream, I've put together a fun list of ice cream-related names you could give your baby. The names come from ice cream brands, chains, and locally famous ice cream parlors.

  • Ben - Ben & Jerry's (began in Vermont in 1978). A nickname for Benjamin or Benedict.

  • Brigham - Brigham's Ice Cream (in Massachusetts, est. 1924).

  • Christina - Christina's Homemade Ice Cream (in Cambridge, MA). Related names include Christine, Christie, Christia and Christa.

  • Edy - Edy's Ice Cream (a brand known as Dreyer's on the West Coast). An alternative spelling is Edie.

  • Frederick - Frederick's Ice Cream (in England, est. early 1900s). Related names include Fredrick, Frederica, Freddy and Fred.

  • Jake - Jake's Ice Cream & Sorbets (in Atlanta, GA, est. 1990s). A nickname for Jacob.

  • Jerry - Ben & Jerry's (began in Vermont in 1978). A nickname for Gerald, Jerome, Jeremy or Geraldine.

  • Jim - Crazy Jim ice cream (in Jamaica, est. 1980s). A nickname for James.

  • Mario - Mario's Gelati (in Canada, est. 1980s).

  • Maud - Maud's Ice Cream (in Ireland, est. 1982). A nickname for Matilda.

  • Mitchell - Mitchell's Ice Cream (in San Francisco, est. 1953).

  • Murphy - Murphy's Ice Cream (in Co. Kerry, Ireland, est. 2000).

  • Pierre - Pierre's Ice Cream Shop (in Cleveland, est. 1932). Related names include Peter, Pedro, Pierrette and Pietro.

  • Polly Ann - Polly Ann Ice Cream (in San Francisco, est. 1955). Related names include Polly, Anne, Anne, and Pollyanna.

  • Robin - Baskin-Robbins (began in California in 1945). A pet form of Robert.
