The Hessen Conspiracy released on DVD Jan 11
Germany, 1945...the beginning of many great movies. The war has been lost – people are restless, resentful and suspicious. The streets are gray, stark and empty.

On January 11, 2011, Anchor Bay Entertainment presents The Hessen Conspiracy: the tale of search, discovery and plunder in the hidden passages beneath the streets of Frankfurt. Based on actual events, The Hessen Conspiracy is a taut adventure of audacity and greed played against the decadence and despair of post World War II Germany. The Hessen Conspiracy will be available on DVD for an SRP of $26.98.

Castle Kronberg, outside Frankfurt, had long been a home for emperors and kings. But in 1945, it had become a “country club” for swaggering, victorious American officers. Colonel Jack Durant (Billy Zane – Titanic, Dead Calm, “Twin Peaks”) and the beautiful Lieutenant Kathleen Nash (Lyne Renée – Love At First Kill) have no problem taking advantage of the new German occupiers. But when they discover the crown jewels of Germany – Prussian riches that rival anything found in the Tower of London – the renegades must step out of their comfort zone into one of greed and danger.

Jack and Kathleen find themselves caught in a web of spies, gangsters, royalty and millionaires…even the highest echelon of the U.S. Army. They travel to New York, seeking a willing fence for their dazzling, dangerous cache. The stakes are high for both of them, and even as they are united by their nerve, their passion and their greed. Are they willing to stay true to each other? How long before one sells the other out?

Co-written by Nicholas Meyer (Time After Time, Star II: The Wrath of Khan, Oscar® nominee, The Seven-Per-Cent Solution; Emmy nominee, “The Odyssey”) and Ronald Roose, The Hessen Conspiracy is an edgy thriller – tense, romantic and bold. In a time of peace, the battle for the jewels will begin. Who will get the spoils: the victor or the villain?

This fun flick has something for everyone: romance for the gals, Nazis and guns for the guys.
