Amazon.com has several wonderful books on Amazon Parrots

Amazon Parrots are amazing birds. They are generally very outgoing and if they talk, they are usually quite willing to talk in front of anyone, whether they are at home or out in the public. Most Amazons love to have a bath or shower and will sing, talk or whistle as they get soaking wet.

Of course, with the name Amazon, you should assume (correctly) that they originate in the Amazon in South America. Their bright colours, ability to talk and wonderful personalities have made them one of the favourites in pet bird ownership.
