Tiny Chocolate Covered Cakes and Fruit Kabobs
Guest Author - Vanette (Vannie) Ryanes

Cool down with fresh fruit and chocolate after a fiery feast. This Chocolate Covered Cakes and Fruit Kabobs recipe makes a big hit with grown ups and kids. This easy to prepare treat starts with store bought pound cake so you know it's easy to make.

1 package (12-oz.) NESTLÉ TOLL HOUSE Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels

2 tablespoons vegetable shortening

24 bite-size pieces pound cake

24 bite-size pieces fresh fruit or berries, (pineapple, banana, melon, strawberries)

Strawberry Sauce

4. 1 can (10-oz.) frozen strawberries in syrup, thawed

3 tablespoons or more sugar

To Make the Kabobs

Line a baking sheet with waxed paper.

1.Microwave morsels and vegetable shortening in a medium, microwave-safe bowl on high (100%) power for 1 minute; stir.

2. Microwave at additional 10- to 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Dip cake pieces into chocolate mixture; shake off excess.

3. Place on prepared baking sheet; drizzle tops with additional chocolate. Refrigerate until set.

4. On skewers, alternately thread chocolate coated pieces of cake with pieces of fruit; refrigerate. Serve with Strawberry Sauce.
