Adding Online Games To Your Site
Guest Author - Diane Cipollo

After you have your website up and running you can start working on increasing traffic to your site. One way to increase traffic is to add online games to your website. People have enjoyed playing computer games since the original Pac Man was first released. Online computer games are a great way to keep visitors returning to your website. There are many ways to add online games to your site and we will take a look at two in this article.

The first method is to use the services of a game hosting website. These sites have a large database of online games. You can play the games right there on their website and you can also place these games on your own website for your visitors to play. It's very easy to put these games on your own website. The truth is that the game remains on the owner's website. The only thing you have to put on your site is a few lines of HTML code that will cause the game to display on your webpage. An example of this type of game hosting website is JigZone.com.

A second way to add a game to your website is to use a "copy and paste" script. There are various internet sites that have hundreds of small programs called scripts. These scripts contain the entire code that makes the game work. You just go to these sites and copy the script for a game and then place the script on your own webpage. The nice thing about this method is that the entire game is right there on your webpage. Most of these game scripts are written in Java or JavaScript by individual authors. These individuals post these scripts on the web for others to enjoy. Usually the scripts are "ready to go" or you might have to make a few small adjustments so the script works on your webpage. If this is the cast there are instructions posted with the scripts. An example of one of these copy and paste games is the Paper Doll game here at Bella.
