Review of The Music of Mercy Me

Review:"
Almost There by Mercy Me
Spoken For by Mercy Me

I was listening to my car radio when I first experienced the music of the group Mercy Me. The song "I Can Only Imagine" came on. I was stunned by the feeling in the music. I felt as if someone reached into my heart and read my deepest thoughts and then sang them to Jesus. I wanted to hear more by this group. I don't have a lot of CDs in my collection. I have a fear of finding only one selection to my liking and being disappointed with the others.
However I took a chance and purchased "Almost There" and was pleasantly surprised. Mercy Me sings heart-felt worship music with in a contemporary style with no compromise of meaning. They speak to God in honest and simple language, reminding me of true prayer.
Besides "I Can Only Imagine," my other favorites on this CD are "I Worship You," "On My Way to You," "In You" and "Bless Me Indeed."

Spoken For is the second Mercy Me CD in my collection and I think I enjoy it even more than Almost There. The songs "Word of God Speak" and "Spoken For" will bring me to tears almost every time I hear them.

The music of Mercy Me has a way of speaking from the ordinary person's heart to the Mighty God.
These CDs will be on my shopping list as gifts for people who are like me - who love God and enjoy contemporary worship music.
