In legends mode, each character gets his or her own special scenario to fight in and defeat. Import your existing characters to give them even more places to explore, people to fight and weapons to wield.

Sure you can say Xtreme Legends 4 just adds on to Dynasty Warriors 4. But obviously people who are playing Dynasty Warriors 4 and loving it are probably people who played Dynasty Warriors 3, 2, and 1 and loved those just as much. The point isn't about completely changing the course of Chinese history by adding in new timelines or exotic weaponry. It's about adding even more richness to the story that does exist.

In challenge mode you now have an arena mode. You have to go through as many one-on-one duels as you can. If you rack up enough points, you can post your results on the official website to win world renown!

In xtreme mode, you go through a series of missions, trying to achieve the stated goals. You can earn new equipment and buy yourself items as well. There's even an economy system in play. If you keep buying more and more of a given item, they will raise the price on you, figuring it is a necessity in your life.

You can even edit the opening of the game, customizing it to show your favorite characters!
